Today, January 18, 2014 is the fifth anniversary of the Kate’s passing. We in the family remember this day with sadness but we all knew a sense of peace when Kate left us, surrounded by her family and friends. Although in a coma, she waited to go until her daughter, Martha, had been to see her and then had to rush back to London where her pre-mature baby, Kate’s first grandchild,Arcangelo, was slowly healing and growing from his unexpected early arrival. Once that plane took off, and after three days of singing to her and helping her along, it was her sister, Anna, who knew just what to do. Picking up a computer, she played a recording Kate had of her children, Rufus and Martha, singing an old French song as very young children. It was then that Kate let go, her long fight with sarcoma finally over.
We shall always miss her and love her and remember this day. Celebrating her life and her songs, we march along, arraying on her fight against cancer and expanding her legacy.
